Songs over the years people have told me remind them of me:

  • Guster - Demons
  • Amos Lee - Arms of a Woman
  • Panic at the Disco! - Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have with Her Clothes On

Looking back at it now… none are very flattering.

$2.96

Dear Dunkin Donuts,
Every morning I stop in to one of your 3 locations I pass on my way to work and make essentially the same purchase, a medium coffee and a muffin. At $2.96 this is one of the few purchases I actually enjoy making in this exuberant city. I am slightly annoyed by the 4 pennies I receive as change, and promptly place it on the ground in your parking lot. That is beside the point, however, kudos to the one seasoned veteran employee who consistently gives me a nickel change instead. She makes my days.

The real reason for my writing is to address the state of affairs of your muffins. There is one muffin that stands out amongst all the others in its class, the shinning city on the hill. This muffin is consistently the moistest, fluffiest, and just all around generally most tasty of all your products. I of course am speaking of the almighty Blueberry Muffin. If given the option I will make this selection EVERY time. However, that is not a luxury I enjoy.

On mornings such as today, I will arrive to find a lovely batch of freshly baked Blueberry muffins and will be overcome with glee. However, this only leads to disappointment because it means that tomorrow there will be none. Clearly I am not the only one that has taken note of the Blueberry’s awesomeness, and without fail, every batch sells out within a day. Occasionally, there will be a day old straggler that I can enjoy to a slightly lesser degree, but the betting odds on that are not favorable.

So Sir Dunkin, as a person trained in the field of economics, I am going to point out that simple laws of Supply and Demand here dictate a production shortage, and for the benefit of us consumers and your profits, I am going to have to recommend you BAKE MORE.

You keep doing your part, and I’ll keep leaving crumbs on my office floor for the cleaning lady.

Sincerely,
Daniel T. Ryan

As someone who prides himself in his vocabulary, I find this list of 100 Words Every High School Graduate Should Know alarming. I will not even admit my batting average on them.

This is incredibly behind the times of me, but I am just now learning of Twitter. And so, since I enjoy having getting text messages and feeling like somebody cares what I am doing, I will humor it for now.

Graduation

Sat May 12, 2007 11:47 AM

I know I’ve completely neglected this site, but sometimes there is just no containing how busy life can get. However, as of yesterday my college days are over. I graduate with my Masters in Economics from the University of Buffalo. For the time being this means I have a lot of free time on my hands, so… hire me.

All I’ve really known for my remote experience of an adult life has been college, and now that’s all over. It’s surreal and incredibly scary at the same time. I have to be moving soon, into my first real off campus place. And there’s still the very serious issue of finding a job and maybe even more relocation. I’m going to avoid waves of negativity for the moment and just ride the joyous momentum of the occasion.

Potentially the Most Flattering Thing I’ve Heard

In my classes I am almost always single handedly the overwhelming minority of males who uses any form of “product” in his hair.
